What is Echosclerotherapy?

Echosclerotherapy is an ultrasound guided injection technique for the treatment of varices, particularly of the saphenous veins. These veins are the larger and less superficial veins of the legs. They are not readily accessible to injection, and in the past, were only treatable with surgery.

What are the advantages of Echosclerotherapy?

Echosclerotherapy provides an alternative to surgical stripping. Echosclerotherapy is performed in the office, without anesthetic, and is relatively painless. Patients can continue their usual work routine the day following Echosclerotherapy.
